Why I created Brave Clarity
I know firsthand how frightening and confusing it can be to navigate eating disorder treatment.
Having been through multiple treatment experiences myself, I understand the fear, uncertainty, and mixed feelings that can come with seeking help. You can want recovery and still be terrified of what treatment might involve. You can recognize that something needs to change while another part of you wishes things could stay the same.
Those feelings deserve understanding rather than judgment.
I ultimately recovered from my eating disorder, and I remain deeply grateful for the care I received during treatment, as well as the compassionate, nonjudgmental support of my outpatient providers, which played such an important role in helping me reach full recovery.
What my own experience taught me
One thing my experience taught me is that treatment is often a step in recovery, not the finish line. Sometimes more than one treatment experience is needed. A higher level of care can help interrupt eating disorder behaviors and create space for recovery, but much of the work continues after discharge, with the support of an outpatient treatment team.
I believe there is a healthy part of every person, even when the eating disorder feels overwhelmingly powerful. Learning to listen to that part, especially when fear and old behaviors pull in another direction, takes tremendous courage. Carrying that work into everyday life takes time, patience, and continued support.
Recovery is possible. My own path wasn't straightforward, but each experience contributed to where I am today.
I created Brave Clarity because I wanted to make one particularly difficult part of this journey a little easier: finding and understanding treatment options, whether for yourself or someone you love.
The experience and skills I bring
Before starting Brave Clarity, I spent my career in the technology industry, working across analytics, customer success, product management, software engineering, and leadership.
Much of my work involved making sense of complicated information, identifying meaningful differences, asking the right questions, and finding practical solutions to difficult problems.
Just as important to me is how I connect with people, whether in my work, life coaching, or relationships with family and friends.
I value listening carefully, understanding someone's concerns, working collaboratively, being thorough, and following through. These qualities guide how I live as well as how I work. I believe people should feel comfortable asking questions, especially when they're navigating something unfamiliar or overwhelming.
Those same qualities are at the heart of Brave Clarity.
I draw on my career, life coaching, and personal relationships to listen, offer support, and help make sense of complex treatment information. My own experience with eating disorder treatment and recovery also gives me a personal understanding of how emotionally difficult this process can be.
A compassionate, nonjudgmental approach
I'm a Certified Life Coach, IFS-Informed Coach, and Eating Disorder Recovery Mentor.
My IFS-informed training has reinforced something I understand from personal experience: we can hold different, even conflicting feelings at the same time.
You might want help and fear it. You might feel hopeful one moment and uncertain the next. If you're supporting a loved one, you may feel compassion, frustration, fear, and exhaustion — sometimes all at once.
There's room for all of that.
My approach is to listen without judgment, respect where you are, and help with the practical challenges in front of you.
What I offer today and what's ahead
My primary focus today is helping individuals and loved ones navigate the process of finding eating disorder treatment through Clarity Guide and personalized treatment navigation support. I also offer individual life coaching for those seeking support with personal challenges, transitions, or goals.
Looking ahead, I plan to pursue certification in eating disorder recovery coaching, with the intention of expanding Brave Clarity to offer ongoing eating disorder recovery support.
My hope is that Brave Clarity can make a difficult process feel a little less overwhelming, one step at a time.
